PERFORMANCE OVERVIEW

Turbo model sport-tuned dynamics: Veloster Turbos are fitted with a McPherson strut front suspension, coil springs, gas shock absorbers and a 24-mm diameter front stabilizer bar. The rear suspension is a lightweight independent multi-link design with a 19-mm stabilizer bar to further control body roll. The rear suspension uses gas-pressurized shock absorbers for ride comfort with excellent control. Veloster features electric power steering that adjusts assistance to changing driving conditions while improving fuel economy over a conventional steering system. When equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, available 18-inch alloy wheels are fitted with Michelin^® Pilot Sport 4 summer tires.

GIVE OTHER CARS TRANSMISSION ENVY

Typically found on high-end cars, the sophisticated 6-speed EcoShift^® and 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmissions (DCT) with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters incorporate the latest technology while delivering smooth and efficient power. You also have the option of an enthusiast-focused 6-speed manual transmission that's fun to drive and puts you in total control at all times.

TURBO R-SPEC PERFORMANCE MODS

At the core of the Veloster Turbo R-Spec are features that put you in touch with the road and maximize vehicle performance. The 201-hp twin-scroll turbocharged engine is at the top of a features list that includes a B&M Racing^® Sport Shifter and sport-tuned suspension with higher spring rates at each wheel.

SPORT-TUNED SUSPENSION

A modified front suspension, featuring gas-filled hydraulic monotube shock absorbers, delivers a sportier ride, while the Motor-Driven Power Steering (MDPS) has been tuned for increased steering response. A large front stabilizer bar reduces body roll and improves handling and control on the curves.

TORQUE VECTORING CONTROL (TVC)

When the road turns twisty and you want improved performance in the corners, Torque Vectoring Control (TVC) enhances vehicle stability and safety. It's standard on Turbo and Turbo R-Spec and uses the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) sensors to detect understeer then initiates specifically programmed braking to provide precise cornering without compromising driving dynamics.

GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION

You'll be amazed by Veloster and Value Edition's 1.6L GDI engine. It's both strong and efficient, generating up to 132 horsepower and delivering up to an EPA-estimated 35 MPG Highway.

SIX AIRBAGS AND MORE

Even our take on safety is extreme. Six airbags with a front Occupant Classification System (OCS), high tensile strength steel and a sophisticated Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system are all standard on Veloster. TAKE TOTAL CONTROL OF TRACTION

Working in tandem with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the Traction Control System (TCS) limits power and applies brakes to individual wheels. This reduces the occurrence of wheelspin and routes power to the wheel with the most traction.

One of three elements in Veloster's Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) uses sensors in the steering system and at each wheel to compare where you want to go with where the car is heading.
