VORTEC 6.0L V-8 ENGINE
Paired with a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission to deliver 360 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard Vortec engine also includes: Variable Valve Timing (VVT) optimizes high-end power and low-end torque with E85-capable.
ALL TERRAIN CAPABILITY

SAFETY OVERVIEW
You can never be too aware of your surroundings. That's why Sierra HD helps with its available Driver Alert Package. These available features help provide confidence and clarity as you maneuver your Sierra HD to your next destination.
REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT
If a vehicle is approaching from the left or right when you're backing up, available Rear Cross Traffic Alert can signal you to a possible crash. When in reverse, sensors look for left or right cross traffic behind you. When detected, a red flashing triangle displays on the rear vision camera screen and points toward the approaching vehicle, along with audible beeps.
LANE KEEP ASSIST WITH LANE DEPARTURE WARNING
Avoid drifting out of your lane unintentionally. This is done using a camera that detects right and left lane markings. With available Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, if you drive over a detected lane marking without intentionally steering or using your turn signal, your vehicle will provide gentle steering wheel turns and lane departure warning alerts if necessary.
FOLLOWING DISTANCE INDICATOR
Keep your vehicle at a safe distance behind others on the road with available Following Distance Indicator. Using forward-facing cameras and/or radar sensors, this feature monitors vehicles you're behind. When you're between .5 and 2.5 seconds away from another detected vehicle, the following time will be displayed.
SAFETY ALERT SEAT
With pulsing driver seat vibrations to communicate the direction of a possible crash threat, the available Safety Alert Seat works with the other available safety and driver assistance features using ultrasonic camera and/or radar sensors equipped on the vehicle to detect a possible collision situation. The Safety Alert Seat pulses on the left, right or both sides of the seat to alert you in the direction of the possible danger.
FORWARD COLLISION ALERT
Uses forward-facing cameras and/or radar to detect the distance from the vehicle in front of you. Available Forward Collision Alert provides audible and visual signals if it appears a collision may be imminent. The system also warns you if you're following a detected vehicle much too closely through a visual display in the Driver Information Center (DIC).
REAR PARK ASSIST
Park with ease when available Rear Park Assist is activated. Your rear speakers will emit repeated beeping sounds when your vehicle detects objects up to 8 feet behind you. The closer you move toward the object, the spacing between beeps will get shorter, helping you avoid the collision while you park your vehicle.
AIRBAGS SAFETY
Working with the safety belt system to help absorb the energy of a crash, driver and passenger front and side airbags help protect your head and body in high-risk crashes. Additional available driver knee airbags and inboard driver seat mounted center airbags help diminish the force of impact.
